During their visit to the rural area where Dr. Kiran Bedi was addressing the rural population, the Zeniths realized that the villagers received electricity for only 30% of the day. The Zeniths returned from the meeting inspired & with a sense of purpose, determined to contribute towards a change. The initiative ‘My Earth, My Home’ was carried out wherein each participant chose to voluntarily live without electricity for every Friday, 6 – 7 PM, in order to show their love for the planet & its resources. The Zeniths made 3,000 families pledge to do the same for about a month, after which they reached out to the then Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit, to share their project with her. The Chief Minister applauded the efforts and initiative of the Zeniths, and after a meeting with them at her residence, she launched the project ‘My Earth, My Home’ formally. She also interacted with the Zeniths and encouraged them to continue with their good work.
